A multivitamin and fish oil will help to ward off the colds and keep you fighting fit this winter.

Hide fibre from your kids by grating vegetables into mince dishes and sauces or choosing high fibre white bread

If you have children, involve them in the cooking, shopping, and food preparation. They will learn where there food comes from and be more willing to try new tastes

Try at least one new recipe pre week and keep your favourite recipes in a scrapbook to impress friends and family when entertaining

Do you eat for emotional reasons? Explore other avenues to meet your emotional needs, like sport, friends, family or shopping!

Don’t like the taste of water? Try herbal tea, water with a squeeze of lemon juice or mineral water

Exercise in the morning. That way if you are tired in the evening you can just go home and fall in bed.

Instead of meeting friends at a restaurant or café, suggest catching up while walking along the river, cycling on a bike track or playing a friendly game of sport.

Don’t think you have time to prepare veggies? Buy pre-chopped or frozen vegetables to throw in to the meal at the last minute.

Thinking of losing weight? It won’t just happen because you want it to. It will happen if you plan for it. Write down exactly what you plan to do, why you plan to do it and when, and you will be more likely to stick to it.
