We set realistic goals and time frames to improve your health, appearance and self-esteem. The secret to our weight loss success is our expert dietary advice tailored to your individual needs. Meal plans are developed through painless modification strategies that suit your lifestyle, work, family and culture. The lifestyle changes expected of you are realistic, achievable and are easy to maintain, long term and with no deprivation!

TOLI believes in weight loss that is achievable and sustainable. We use a team of dietitians, exercise physiologists and psychologists, as required, to help you lose weight and keep it off. The educational techniques used are unique and they work! Weight loss that works long term requires a life-long commitment to a healthy lifestyle, which is focused on eating healthy foods and keeping physically active in a way that is both sustainable and enjoyable. Our motto at TOLI is to help you look great and feel great!

Underweight - Underweight problems may relate to eating disorders, loss of appetite due to illness/surgery/medication, restricted food choices (fussy eaters) or an inability to gain weight. We can help those of any age group achieve a healthy weight with specialised eating programs and supplements where required. We also work closely with a number of psychologists, psychiatrists and exercise physiologists if further assistance of this type is advised.

Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes & Impaired Glucose Intolerance - A healthy diet is an essential part of diabetes management, helping to control blood glucose (sugar) levels and achieve a healthy weight.

An Accredited Practising Dietitian will advise you on your personal health and lifestyle and provide dietary advice and information that is tailored to your individual needs to help you manage your diabetes and stay healthy. They can also help to separate the facts from the myths surrounding diet and diabetes. Areas that will be modified will include fats, fibre, carbohydrates, meal distribution, glycaemic index and glycaemic load.

Insulin Resistance - TOLI has developed nutritional strategies to assist in managing body weight and insulin resistance. A combined healthy eating program with regular physical activity can reduce your risk of developing insulin resistance dramatically.

Insulin resistance is more common in people with a family history of diabetes, people who are overweight or physically inactive and women with polycystic ovarian syndrome. A person with insulin resistance has a greater risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease.

If you have insulin resistance, TOLI dietitians will be able to advise you on a healthy lifestyle that can reduce your chances of developing Type 2 diabetes and is almost twice as effective as a common medication used to treat insulin resistance.

High Cholesterol - High levels of cholesterol in the blood may increase the risk of developing heart disease. A healthy diet can help to lower the risk of developing high cholesterol and triglyceride levels. TOLI supplies dietary advice to reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood by discussing foods containing saturated, poly-unsaturated and mono-unsaturated fats, soluble and insoluble fibre sources, the reduction of cholesterol contained in foods, plant sterols and omega 3 & 6 fats.

Gastrointestinal Problems - These include Constipation, Loose bowel motions, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Crohns Disease, Indigestion, Hiatus hernia, Reflux and Diverticular Disease. Current dietary information and eating plans are available to assist in the management of these problem areas.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a condition of the digestive system that may result in a variety of uncomfortable symptoms. Most people with IBS find dietary management influences their symptoms of abdominal pain, wind, constipation and/or diarrhoea, bloating.

Our nutrition strategies for the treatment of IBS assist greatly, if not totally remove all the symptoms experienced by IBS sufferers. The use of our psychologists has also proven to be a successful strategy in stress management and relaxation.

Coeliac Disease and Gluten Intolerance - People with coeliac disease have an intolerance to gluten. It is important that foods containing gluten be replaced with gluten-free alternatives to ensure a healthy balanced diet. TOLI can help to explain which foods are suitable for a gluten free diet, ensure nutritional needs are met and ensure the diet includes enough variety to help maintain good health.

Food Allergies and Intolerances, Fodmaps - TOLI uses elimination diets to assess food intolerance issues. The foods and food chemicals to be eliminated may include; salicylates, glutamates, amines, preservatives, colours, wheat, dairy, lactose or gluten. Once the problem foods are identified, food lists, recipes and balanced dietary plans are supplied.

Eating Disorders - People with an eating disorder (anorexia and/or bulimia) or suspected eating disorder should seek professional help. TOLI Accredited Practising Dietitians can offer counselling, support and advice about eating. Our dietitians will often work with other health professionals such as Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners to treat the disorder.

Pregnancy and Lactation - Good nutrition during pregnancy will help to keep a developing baby and its mother healthy. TOLI Dietitians outline the need for extra protein, iron, calcium, folate and other vitamins and minerals during pregnancy. Our specialist advice will help you meet the extra demands of pregnancy and lactation. Gestational Diabetes is also nutritionally managed by the TOLI team.

Childhood Nutrition - Children must meet the special needs for growth, development and daily activity by eating a healthy diet. It is important for children to eat a variety of healthy foods to meet those special needs. TOLI can provide helpful assistance in the areas of weight loss, weight gain, fussy eaters and general health by improving the variety of foods in a child's diet as well as making sure that they are receiving all the important nutrients they need.
