Private Health Fund Rebates

• Individual Consultations are rebatable through most private health funds. The rebate will depend on your level of cover, please call your health fund to see what rebate you will be entitled to.  

Medicare Rebates

• With some chronic conditions, your GP may choose to refer you through Health Management under a team care plan, where your appointment is rebatable through medicare initiative.
• Tree of Life Nutrition does not usually bulk bill for these services (special circumstances may apply, ask our receptionists if this applies to your circumstance), and you will need to pay for your consultation up front and take the receipt back to medicare for your rebate. Currently the rebate is $50.05 for each session.
• Tree of Life Nutrition is a provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). If you have a Gold card, you will not have to pay for your visit to the dietitian. Home visits are available if required. If you are DVA eligible, please see your GP for a referral before seeing the dietitian.

Our friendly receptionists are available to answer phones on Monday, Tuesday, Friday 9am – 2.30pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30am — 6.00pm. The message bank may also be on during the day when the phone is running off the hook — please don’t hesitate to leave a message, until our receptionist is available.

Medicare Rebates for Psychology
Some clients may be eligible for referral by their GP under the new medicare scheme, called a Mental Health Care Plan. This is for those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety or difficulty adjusting to a trauma. If your GP does refer you under this Medicare plan, you will be able to claim $75 per session for up to six sessions. At the end of the six sessions, you can negotiate with your GP whether you might need a second set of six sessions. That's up to twelve sessions in a year!
